The Philadelphia
Eagles are enjoying their new home in the Lincoln Financial
Field which opened in August. The groundbreaking for the $320M
NFL stadium took place in April, 2001. Built by a joint venture
of Turner, Keating and McKissack construction companies the
facility has a 66,000 seating capacity.
The exterior
of Lincoln Financial Field has a pair of winglike coverings
over the upper stands. These wings provide some protection
from the elements to fans and serve to focus stadium noise
back toward the field, enhancing the game experience.
Designed
by NBBJ Sports and Entertainment, the new stadium brings fans
closer to the field. It provides them with dramatically improved
sight lines as well as state-of-the-art amenities and services.
Rather than the traditional bowl design, the stadium features
three open plaza corners for views to the city and into the
stadium.The entire structure is designed from a fan's perspective.and
with a game-day experience in mind.
